Mara is a
Murgese born in 1998. The Murgese breed which many believe to be very old has always been Evelyn's favorite and in 2004 she decided to buy Mara and bring her to the Shelter. Initially the custom of face branding Murgesi left scars on Mara's character. She did not like to have her face touched or halter put on until she developed deep trust in a person. Little by little Mara calmed down and can now have a halter put on with no problem altough she still doesn't like to have her face touched by strangers. Mara is a wonderful horse with great character who loves to work and who several years back had a son, Zuli, who now lives in the U.S.A. |
